Watching movies in your own home is always exciting. You can snuggle up on the sofa in your most comfortable pyjamas and eat whatever you want without being judged, as well as benefitting from a quiet, relaxing viewing without being disturbed by people going to the toilet every five minutes!
With so many amazing films that have been released on Blu-Ray over the last decade or so, we’re never short of a high definition title to settle down and watch at our leisure. But which are the best films to watch in HD?
As TV experts, we’ve decided to list our favourite HD films that we love watching in high quality on our TVs at home! It’s not a definitive list… there’s just simply too many good ones to mention!
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
One of the more recent releases that we just can’t get enough of is our Blu-Ray of the highly anticipated Mad Max: Fury Road.
With a plethora of incredible visual effects, we’re pretty sure that we can almost feel the heat coming from our TVs when the flames get going during some of the most intense scenes we’ve seen for a while.
If you love a good dystopian action film and want to get a close up view of some of the most impressive visuals that we’ve seen for a long time, then Mad Max: Fury Road is definitely the film for you!
Jurassic Park/Jurassic World (1993/2015)
There’s nothing more amazing than seeing a dinosaur in all its glory- just ask Alan Grant from the movie Jurassic Park movie.
While we can’t actually get as close as Mr Grant does in the film, getting a copy of the 1993 epic on Blu-Ray is definitely as close as we’re currently going to get to seeing a dinosaur in real life any time soon. It’s almost like this film was intended to be in HD all along; the incredible textures on the dinosaurs’ skin in the close up shots, the beautiful natural shots of the park- it really is just an incredible film!
If the oldie isn’t your cup of tea and you’re looking for a dinosaur tale that’s a bit closer to your generation, then Jurassic World is a fantastically visual follow up. With a bigger, badder dinosaur than T-Rex herself (or is she… watch to find out!) the cinematography in this film is just amazing. From small details such as blood around the mouth of the new Indominus Rex, to the interesting camouflage that she utilises… we really can’t recommend this film more! Even the camouflage gets us every time, no matter how HD the film is!
The Avengers (2012)
2012 seems like such a long time ago, but it heralded the release of one of the best movies in comic book history – Avengers Assemble. With an all star cast and visual effects to knock your socks off, we love kicking back and relaxing to this action packed, comic orientated film as it’s such an easy watch.
Containing some of the best known Marvel characters such as Iron Man and The Hulk, this is a great family film for those with kids who are into intense action scenes which aren’t gory or graphic (it was certified a 12A age rating in the UK).
