A gruelling bout of cross-country ski-ing topped off with some incredibly skilled rifle shooting, what’s not to like about that? The biathlon is one of the most physically challenging events and promises to provide plenty of excitement in 2014.

Ski Jumping

One of the real thrill a minute winter sports, ski jumping sees athletes hurl themselves down a take off ramp and sail elegantly through the air for anything up to the record of 246.5 metres. The excitement is guaranteed with ski jumping and you will no doubt struggle to stay in your seat all the way through.

Snowboarding

With British boarders such as Jenny Jones already achieving success on the snow this naturally exciting and exhilarating sport is sure to be an edge of the seat affair. Despite it being snowboarding’s first appearance at the winter Olympics it is sure to gain new levels of interest and become a firm favourite in years to come.
