The annual tradition continues. As affable presenting duo, Ant and Dec prepare to head off to the wild jungles of Australia, ITV have revealed the names of the ten celebrities set to join them. Here are your ten celebs – in no particular order, since we’d hate to bruise any of those tender egos.
Tinchy Stryder – A rapper who recently recorded a charity album with legendary comedians The Chuckle Brothers.
Carl Fogarty – A major name in the racing world, famous for motorbike racing.
Nadia Forde – An Irish model. And TV presenter. And singer. She claims to have packed tons of bikinis.
Jimmy Bullard – If you’re a follower of football, you might remember this retired Wigan player.
Gemma Collins – The obligatory TOWIE ‘star’. Claims to be looking for love in the jungle. Which is a weird place to look, to be honest.
Vicki Michelle – One of the many women to romance Renee in 80’s sitcom ‘Allo ‘Allo.
Kendra Wilkinson – A Playboy model and TV presenter who is also one of Hugh Hefner’s three girlfriends.
Craig Charles – Scouse actor whose claims to fame include a stint on Coronation Street and playing Lister in sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf.
Melanie Sykes – Down-to-Earth northern model and presenter who worked on Today with Des and Mel and made her name in ads for Boddington’s beer.
Michael Buerk – Possibly the biggest of the bunch, famous for being a well-respected BBC news broadcaster and owner of a brand-new beard.
Sure, some cynics will read that list and think: ‘Which one’s the celebrity?’ but it’s certainly one of the better line-ups, in terms of name recognition. All the usual suspects are accounted for too – with the granddad of the camp, the mother-hen, the jack-the-lad and the wannabe. And we couldn’t be more excited to watch the comedy and drama Down-Under as it unfolds.
I’m a Celebrity 2014 starts this Sunday on ITV.
