There’s something special about going to the cinema, and it’s not just because it’s the only time you eat your own weight in super expensive popcorn. Whether it’s action and adventure, a rom-com or a thriller, watching films on the BIG screen brings the story to life!
Even if you’re an avid movie watcher, you don’t tend to go to the cinema on a daily basis, which is why it only seems logical to create your own mini-cinema in the comfort of your own home. That way you can buy some considerably cheaper popcorn from Tesco, curl up on the sofa in your Panda-print pyjamas and enjoy your favourite films as and when you please!
Of course, not everyone can afford, nor fit for that matter, a full-sized cinema screen in their lounge, which is why the next best thing is to invest in 50 inch TV screen or bigger to create your own home cinema experience.
Landscapes and colour
With a bigger screen to watch your movies on, you can better appreciate the visuals, whether that’s breathtaking landscapes in impressive cinematography, or vivid colours of breathtaking views or of animated films. Movies from Pixar are a great example of how colour is used in film; Up, Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo are all aesthetically pleasing films as they’re made with vibrant colour palettes suited to the environments of each film.
No need to squint
The fact of the matter is films just don’t have the same effect when you’re watching them on a relatively small screen. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with slighter smaller screens, as you can still enjoy television shows and films on smaller TVs, but if it’s the cinema experience you’re after, then you can enjoy uncut frames and enlarge smaller details on TVs as big as 40 and 42 inches or larger for a proper movie experience. Add surround sound
A big screen needs some big sound to accompany it so that your larger than life graphics are done some justice. An impressive sound system can bring your movies to life and make it seem like you’re actually a part of the film, with booming bass and small delicate sounds reverberating around your room.
Prime position
Every seat in the cinema gives you a fantastic view, as the screen is so large that you’re never at an awkward angle, unless you’re craning your neck, constantly looking straight up at the screen from the front row. At home you have the benefit of moving your screen and chair to get the best seat in the house, but if you have a group of people watching a bigger screen at the same time, then no one will miss out on the movie.
