Knowing which 4K TV to buy for gaming can be tricky, particularly if you have HDR in mind. From peak brightness to backlight dimming and colour gamut, all details are important. Taking all of these factors into consideration is important for when you are about to choose your new, amazing 4K television just for gaming.
With gaming platforms such as the PS4 Pro and the incoming Xbox One X, gaming in ultra high definition has never been easier. Whether you’re a PS4 fan or excited about the new Xbox One X, you will find the options you need to play amazing 4K games in your home.
PS4 Pro
The PS4 Pro has been around for a while but it’s still attracting a lot of interest from gamers. With its extremely intelligent processing power, the PS4 Pro has an improved graphics architecture that allows it to render 4K games. The implemented HDR and the 60 frames per second allow you to have a great gaming experience. Some games might only be able to render at 30 frames per second but some games such as Gran Turismo Sport claim to be able to run at Ultra HD and at 60 frames per second.
Checkerboard 4K rendering is used by a wide variety of games, allowing for a more effective upscaling through getting around data processing limits by rendering small blocks of pixels, instead of rendering them individually. Some games will also have full, native 4K graphics. You can have 60 frames per second with smooth gameplay with some games at 1080p, or even run them at higher resolutions with 30 frames per second. 1080p might make some games stick, but you can get a higher frame rate with a PS4 Pro than with a standard PS4
Best 4K Games:

Xbox One X
Having both the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One S already available for 4K gaming, the launch of the Xbox One X has been much anticipated. With both the Xbox One S and the Xbox one X, the connectivity, ports, and media playback are similar in both models. They both have USB 3.0 connectors, with one on the front and one at the rear, a couple of HDMI ports (with 2.0b out and 1.4n in), an IR output, Ethernet, and S/PDIF audio.
With both consoles having 4K HDR gaming support, knowing the difference between the One S and the One X is essential to make a decision. The newer model is slightly smaller and slimmer and with a smaller footprint.
The Xbox One X is a modern console likely to be using some upscaling, with its capacity to render high-resolution games that provide a richer and more detailed image. With extra video memory, the texture will have a much higher resolution with much more details. With a new cooling and power delivery system, the smaller size is unlikely to be an issue for efficiency.
This new console also has a 1TB hard disk with 8GB of flash storage, which speeds up the operating system through storing files that are more frequently accessed.
