We’re nearly there! Almost out of what is commonly seen as the most miserable and coldest time of the year, March will signify the beginning of Spring…rejoice!
“But what shall we do until then?” I hear you ask – why, only spend another month in front of your favourite Cheap LED Television ‘catching-up’ or binge-watching all of the new delights that Netflix has to offer.
Here’s what’s coming in February.
Altered Carbon (Season 1)
When? February 2nd
This new series, based on the classic hardboiled sci-fi novel of the same name, is set to land on Netflix February 2nd.
Set in a dystopian future, Joel Kinnaman stars as Takeshi Kovacs, who is hired to solve the murder of extremly wealthy business man Laurens Bancroft.
In a future where human personalities can be stored and ‘upgraded’ into new bodies, there is a lot of buzz surrounding this new series, and it is clear to see why.
The Trader (Sovdagari)
When? February 9th
Making its debut at Sundance Film Festival, winner of the Best Short Documentary Award at Hot Docs, The Trader (Sovdagari) is not to be missed.
Following the story of Gela and his minibus travelling across Georgia, the documentary focuses on the selling of secondhand clothing and menial household items…for potatoes. A weird and visually interesting short, which is certainly not to be missed.
Marseille (Season 2)
When? February 23rd
Be prepared to get your latest political drama fix with Season 2 of Marseille.
Specific plot details have at this stage not been disclosed, however, the series’ Twitter has hinted towards a continuation of the popular first season, which will definitely be music to fan’s ears.
With Gérard Depardieu and Benoĩt Magimel winning César Awards for their performances in season 1, expect big things from this highly anticipated follow up.
Seven Seconds (Season 1)
When? February 23rd
Another new season due to hit Netflix in February is Seven Seconds, and if the trailer is anything to go by, this is surely one not to be missed.
Focusing on what Netflix has dubbed ‘the human stories behind the headlines’, the plot follows newcomer Clare-Hope Ashitey and screen legend Regina King after an African American teenager is critically injured by a cop.
The cover-up that ensues is the base of the series, and we already have our tissues at the ready for what is sure to be an emotional, intense crime drama.
Queer Eye For The Straight Guy (Reboot)
When? February
Reality television enthusiasts will be excited to hear that Queer Eye is coming back to screens.
With no official release date yet, but expected late February, the reboot will follow the original concept of a brand new team of “queer” experts, glamming up a member of the public in need.
Taking the show out of New York and moving more widespread across America, if the hype is anything to go by, this is certain to be one to watch.
As always, these are just a selection of an exciting month ahead for Netflix. Make sure you have the right Cheap LED Television to watch the drama unfold on.
