The Best and Worst of 2017 TV Show Moments

Man pointing at at Smart TV

Television shows have been gripping our attention for years now, and with the introduction of Netflix and Amazon Prime over the years, we have been able to binge watch our favourite shows whenever we want.

2017 has been another successful year for television, but with some of the best comes some of the worst. Some shows get it absolutely spot on whilst others are not as successful with what they thought would be a thrilling and compelling watch.

Here at Electronic World, we have compiled a list of the best and worst TV moments of 2017, and we must warn, if you haven’t seen these episodes, there are some spoilers ahead!

The Best

The Good Place – The Reveal

If you’ve watched The Good Place, you understand just how much of a shock the big reveal was at the end of season 1. Nobody saw this coming! Michael Schur’s afterlife comedy features incredible performances and some brilliant writing, keeping audiences on their toes! But, upon learning that the good place they believed they were in was actually the bad place was a fantastic twist, producing one of the best TV scenes of 2017.

Game of Thrones – Olenna Tyrell’s Last Words

Since the famous books were adapted into one of the most popular TV series to grace the screen, Game of Thrones has produced some fantastic TV moments, and 2017 was no different. Season 7 has so many memorable scenes, but one that truly stands is Olenna Tyrell’s death. When Jaime Lannister thought he had the upper hand when going to kill Olenna, she had the last laugh when after drinking her poison, she informed Jaime it was her who killed Joffrey.

Her last words of ‘’Tell Cersei. I want her to know it was me’’, silenced audiences and created an iconic scene throughout the series.

The Worst

Pretty Little Liars – A.D’s Reveal

Throughout its long run, Pretty Little Liars has created some great scenes, but equally some that could easily be forgotten. It has frustrated audiences for a while, keeping them waiting for any clues on the mysteries the series holds. However, the reveal of A.D in the final episode was not well received.

Many thought the final season left more unanswered questions and introduced more storylines and characters which needed more background. With this, it belongs on the list of one of the worst TV moments of 2017.

American Horror Story: Cult – Season 7

American Horror Story is known for shocking its fans since its introduction in 2011. With every season based on a different theme, it has gained a massive following with fans anticipating every season of its return. However, it’s last few seasons have not received the critical acclaim the first had from fans.

The most recent season, Cult, has not seen positive reviews from fans, and with scenes included such as a re-enactment of the Charles Manson murders, it lands itself on the list of one of the worst TV moments if not series of 2017.
