Another month into 2018 brings yet more fantastic content being uploaded to our favourite streaming services.
And already this year we have had excellent selections! Netflix has welcomed cinematic marvels such as Thor: Ragnarok, The Godfather Trilogy and family-friendly adventures such as Despicable Me 2 and Finding Dory.
Over on Hulu, screen royalty, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, has made an appearance followed closely by cult classic Trainspotting.
But what about Amazon Prime? The streaming service, that was founded in 2005, has enjoyed a successful run of exciting and exclusive entertainment this year already. Firm favourites such as Thelma & Louise and The Karate Kid have completed a varied and diverse lineup, leaving us wondering what is still left to come.

Lady Bird (2017)
Fresh from the Oscar’s 2017 scene, Lady Bird flutters onto Amazon Prime June 3rd. Winning stellar reviews for her portrayal as the titular character, Saoirse Ronan brings joy, tears and an acute understanding of the desire to get out of your humdrum hometown in this ravishing film.
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)
Hailing from public infamy since the mid 19th century, Sweeney Todd was given a grizzly rejuvenation in the 2007 remake starring Johnny Depp. Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter complete the fantastic trio and what results is a chilling story with Fleet Street’s most iconic anti-hero on a quest for redemption. If you enjoy developing musical numbers, meat pies and 1846 London, this one’s for you.
Shutter Island (2010)
Leonardo Dicaprio is on fine form in his depiction of U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels as he travels to a remote, fortress-like insane asylum to investigate a series of mysterious events. A psychological thriller directed by Martin Scorsese and co-starring Mark Ruffalo, many say that this was one of Dicaprio’s greatest ever performances to date.
Suits (Season 7)
The latest season from the much beloved legal series arrived June 18th and fans around the country rejoiced. Starring Patrick J. Adams as the lead in his final season, with the now Duchess of Sussex in hers respectively, fans of the show will be able to witness the end of an era. Get the tissues ready!
Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961)
The romantic comedy that changed the entire film industry, Audrey Hepburn stars as the iconic Holly Golightly in the 1961 classic that is Breakfast at Tiffany’s. A naïve, eccentric socialite in her quest to find a wealthy man to marry, in recent years the film has been noted for its cultural, historical and aesthetic significance in modern times.
A Quiet Place (2018)
A film that made serious waves on its release was A Quiet Place, which stars Emily Blunt and her real-life husband John Krasinski, as husband and wife trying to survive against an otherworldly threat. Make a noise and you’re discovered, yet when you are 9 months pregnant, surely that’s easier said than done? Sliding onto screen 2018.
