Recent research has shown that big screen TVs can be good for your family life, not what everyone would have thought, but when the evidence is looked at, it makes perfect sense.
With LCD and LED televisions getting increasingly larger and cheaper, more and more families have access to the technology in the home, which has resulted in more shared family time watching TV. This encouragement for people to sit and share time together watching TV is happening chiefly amongst children and teenagers. Rather than going off to their rooms and being isolated, more and more they are interacting with the rest of the family, steering away from image of the moody teenager going off to their room.
Whilst there is always warnings of inactivity which could be based around watching too much television, there are health gains to be had when spending time around people. Even if it just watching an hour long show with friends or family, spending time watching TV, playing games and browsing the web together are great forms of social interaction!
With ever increasing technology and functionality from modern TVs, it would be difficult to imagine the figures for viewing going down. The fact that television viewing is becoming a more sociable affair is great news!
