My Cart - For a while now, Apple has been a part of the TV market, with Apple TV, a small media outlet for a HDTV that allows you to rent films, play movies and music from your computer and watch Youtube videos on your HDTV. However, it now seems that Apple is planning on releasing its own internet connected HDTV sometime in the future.
In February rumours surfaced about Apple possibly developing a TV due to a job listing on their website that involved, among other things, working with television. This lead to speculation that Apple was planning on creating their own LCD TVs especially after reports surfaced after a Chinese trade show that “data points” indicated an Apple Smart TV launch that would be a full-blown TV for the consumer market.
Apple is such an incredibly large and powerful company within the consumer electronics market that even though it would be the firms’ very first attempt at making a TV, the sales would likely be incredibly high. With many people developing a strong loyalty to Apple through their iMacs, iPhones and iPads, there would be a huge demand for an Apple TV.
The supposed LCD TV would reportedly be over 50 inches in size, and have a start price of around $2000, as was speculated by Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray. One thing is for sure, and that is that it will be one of the most stylish LCD TVs available, with Apple’s well known ability to design attractive products.
