Customer reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt, but if they generally say that a manufacturer is good then the likelihood is that they will be.
Screen size is a major factor when buying any new TV, and you need to carefully consider the size of your room. A good general rule is to start with 24 inches, adding 3 inches to the screen for every foot away you view it from. This is only a general guideline though, and the best guideline is to simply make sure that you are going to be comfortable watching your TV.
