When having a relaxing evening in alone or with company, most people opt for Netflix, but with so much choice available, it can be difficult to know what to watch first, so, here are some great suggestions from us.
There are some exciting new and returning shows and films coming to Netflix this December (just like there were some great ones in November too!), here is some of what is to come.
Returning Shows:
Easy
When: 1st December
This comedy drama first aired on Netflix last year, and the second season is nearing. The series, created by Joe Swanberg, is an anthology series where every episode starts with a new scenario, mainly focusing on relationships. It features some hugely talented names, including Orlando Bloom, Dave Franco, Malin Akerman and Marc Maron.
The Crown
When: 8th December
This powerful drama is Netflix’s biggest budgeted show, it follows the political rivalries and romance of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, and the events that shaped the second half of the 20th Century. The series has everything a top production blockbuster movie has, and it will continue to recount the Queen’s early years as Monarch of the United Kingdom.
The Ranch
When: 15th December
This American comedy web television series has a huge audience following, and it is returning for its second season. It continues to detail the lives of the Bennetts, a dysfunctional family of two brothers, their father and his separated wife. If you enjoyed season one, season two should not be missed!
New Shows:
Wormwood
When: 15th December
This six-part mini-series dropped its first teaser back in August and got audiences excited for its release. Errol Morris is behind the series which seeks to tell the audience an untold story of how a combination of CIA, LSD experiments and mind control led to the death of a family man. This fictional documentary stars Peter Sarsgaard.
Erased
When: 15th December
With the disappointment of Netflix’s first anime, Death Note, this new release looks set to be much better! Based on the anime series which only aired last year, this live action adaptation will take us into the life of Satoru Fujinuma. The premise allows the main character to jump back in time before a life-threatening incident, to allow him to stop it.
Bright
When: 22nd December
This Christmas, Netflix will be bringing their Will Smith epic, Bright. This action and adventure film is set in an alternative present day where magical creatures live amongst us, and two LA police officers become embroiled in a prophesied turf battle. With other big names including Joel Edgerton and Noomi Rapace, this will surely not disappoint.
