Thanks to our fantastic cheap TV deals you can see some of the best televisions shows the world has to offer on the best TVs the world has ever seen! Especially when that means the all-new shiny remade versions of some old-school kid’s TV classics.
Thunderbirds
You probably remember the good old Thunderbirds with their obvious puppet strings, and lips that were one line and only moved up and down. Those were the days.
Then 2004 happened with Busted ‘Thunderbirds’ and we all swallowed our pride, this could only ever happen once, right? Wrong! The glorious puppets have once again been thrown out in favour of something more, ‘modern’. This new show is completely CGI and the entire cheesy effect of the original is lost to horror. Horror at what the public are now having to witness!
On the other hand, the new generation seem to love it, whilst their parents’ love that the original thunderbirds theme tune is intact, as is the famous countdown.
The brand new show was launched on a Saturday evening, but ITV have now moved it to 8am, much to the outrage of older fans.
The Magic Roundabout
We remember our parents rushing home to watch this one, the entire family would sit down if they could, of course when the timing moved, there was little hope they could meet that slot. Our parents were over-aware about Dylan the rabbit resembling Bob Dylan. The mischief these characters could get up to in five minutes!
In 2005 we were given a very different Magic Roundabout. It was a whole film, not the cute five minute wonders. Although the characters were the same, a little caricatured. Dougle, voiced by Robbie Williams, still loves sugar cubes and Dylan still plays his guitar. The only difference in the film is that we don’t get to see much of Florence in this film; she is voiced by Kylie Minogue.
The guardian only gave it 2 stars! Claiming that potential audiences should ‘leave it’. We think that although the CGI is a little behind its time, it is still a wonderful story, with Lee Evans voicing the train; it is definitely one that will entertain the kids whilst you put your own feet up!
Teletubbies
We only had this in the 90s, what is going on? Apparently one of the best producers is on the case, but is that a good enough excuse to bring back four odd looking creatures with televisions in their stomachs? We think not! The original baby in the sunshine is nearly twenty years old! Isn’t it time we gave the Teletubbies the retirement they need and want? Honestly, they can’t eat that much tubby toast or tubby custard whilst on air.
The original creator has publicly disclosed that she will not be watching the new version on Cbeebies when it airs. Like most of us, she believes that we should be moving forward.
We here at Electronic World TV are helping our customers every day do that, move on in their television technology! Want to know more? Then contact us on 0121 327 3273 and see the future.
