Samsung has been giving us viewing pleasure for over 70 years now. Samsung Electronics is a global leader in high-tech electronics manufacturing and digital media. They have a very positive brand image for producing reliable products and services and they take corporate social responsibility very seriously.
Focus is essentially placed on their impact towards the environment and how they can help their consumers, suppliers and employees. The production of eco-friendly products is very important to Samsung electronics and they have in place a clear policy that they abide by with goals they want to achieve. Through greenhouse gas management and energy management we are seeing a company that is doing a good job in trying to reduce direct and indirect emissions of these green house gases that are ultimately destroying our planet.
In Samsung’s production stages, eco-design looks at the products compliance with environmental criteria and its long-term effect on the environment. They have devised an eco-rating system that all the products need to go through, that assigns the relevant product with an eco-rating. The eco rating for Samsung TV’s is available under the technology specification after selecting the television that you have taken an interest in.
Samsung TVs that are considered to be eco friendly products are the LED TV UE40B7000 that allows consumers to save 44% of energy per year adding considerably cost savings as well. In the manufacturing of the product they have managed to reduce materials by 17% and have used Edge LED backlights with no mercury. All these modifications to the product have enabled a more eco friendly product that has been designed to have minimal effect on the environment.
Our plant is important and it is very positive to see a global giant like Samsung taking sustainability management so seriously.
