Samsung will be offering smaller television sets with 3D technology in 2011. These new, smaller models will be equipped with a swivel base allowing up to 20 degrees of movement at any angle in any direction. The smaller screen is more accessible to the wider market, and can also be seen to have more of an aesthetic appeal due to the smaller, neater size that fits into any home.
The Samsung 32 TV with 3D technology is helping to bridge a gap in the market, as many people who desire the benefits and quality that come with both HD and 3D televisions do not necessarily want a larger size screen. Spokespeople for Samsung have noted, however, that the size of the television does affect the level of viewing experience. Generally, the larger the television, the better the experience, though the main variable is how close one sits to the screen. Further away, the viewing experience is often better, as the viewer is able to take in the full effect. It is generally advised to sit twice the length of the diameter of the television, in this case being 32 inches, away from the television to receive the full benefits of the technology.
The 200Hz technology provided with the Samsung 32 TV offers greater depth of colour, less flicker and no ghosting on 3D images. Samsung are currently focusing on 2D to 3D conversion technology within its television department, and it is hoped that this new smaller model will be able to boast greater accessibility than its larger cousins.
