Just when you thought the world of gadgetry couldn’t get any cooler, the Japanese geniuses over at Panasonic have made us double – no, triple take at the latest television system that they showcased at CES.
We’ve already seen the in-your-face and seemingly touchable visuals that were brought to us with the 3D TV, but the latest developments in technology have given us the ‘invisible’ TV.
With the ability to fade to almost transparent, when activated, the gesture-powered screen has a variety of features, including an app which enables you to split the screen to show two different displays. Also demonstrated at the event was a music app which you can scroll through with a wave of your hand – an incredible innovation which gives a nostalgic nod to 007 style inventions.
Of course, you can use a remote if you wish, but where’s the fun in that? But even if you’re too lazy to wave your arms around or get up and pick up the remote, Panasonic have catered for the couch potato in all of us by installing a voice command system.
These innovations in tech won’t be available to the public until between 2018 and 2020, but the prototype gave onlookers an insight into what they can expect in the way of their TV upgrades.
Even though the display isn’t completely transparent, developers stated at the event that they hope to be able to achieve complete transparency for possibly the slickest piece of technology yet.
Inspiring awe amongst CES attendees, this wasn’t the only jaw dropping device on display, as LG was showcasing their new 18-inch display which can be rolled up like paper! Small enough to hold in your hand, the roll-able screen is easily transportable and can be tucked away in the cupboard to save on space.
Even though we can’t kit out our living rooms with these astonishing prototypes just yet, Electronic World offer cheap TV deals with offers on a range of LCD televisions in brands such as Panasonic, Samsung and LG.
