Netflix has hundreds of awesome movies and TV shows that you can stream straight away from the comfort of your front room. The only problem is that sometimes it can take ages deciding what you actually want to watch, so you get fed up and give up looking.
Here at Electronic World, we are big fans of binge-watching TV. Why wait a week to watch an episode when you can watch it all at once? Amazing! We are partial to a good crime drama too, and Britain has really pulled it out of the bag lately when it comes to producing exciting, heart-stopping TV.
Here is just a selection of our favourites that you can enjoy right now on Netflix.
Broadchurch
This eight-part crime drama is considered by some people as one of the best British crime shows of the last decade. And rightly so!
The show focuses on an investigation into the surprise murder of a young boy in a friendly seaside town. What follows is a nationwide media frenzy that opens up old wounds, exposes hidden secrets and tears the residents of Broadchurch apart.
Doctor Who’s David Tennant leads the show as Detective Alec Hardy, who has his own troubled past that is pushing him to solve the case before it’s too late. Other cast members include Olivia Colman and Arthur Darvill, who are all fantastic additions to this show.
Although the premise is one that has been done many times before, we guarantee that this is not one to miss. You will lose yourself in the secrets and mystery that surrounds the town, and every single person will become a suspect to you.
We bet that you won’t be able guess the killer – the ending is a shocker!
Luther
Luther is another show that is considered one of the best British crime thrillers of the last decade.
Idris Elba stars as DCI John Luther, a murder detective who works in the Serious Crime Unit. Although he is a fantastic police officer, his methods do not always follow the law and he often finds himself in a lot of trouble. He is haunted by the horrors of past cases, which often pushes him into becoming obsessed with his investigations, then leading to violent confrontations.
Idris is excellent as usual, but the stand-out star of the series has to be Ruth Wilson, who plays highly intelligent psychopath Alice Morgan. She is the suspect in the murder case in the first episode, and then becomes a reluctant friend to Luther in the remaining episodes, despite being a murderer.
The cat and mouse chase between Luther and Alice is a highlight of the series, and should not be missed.
The Fall
Before Jamie Dornan was Christian Grey, he played Paul Spector, a serial killer on the crime television series The Fall.
The series follows Gillian Anderson as Superintendent Stella Gibson, who is sent from the Metropolitan Police to the Police Service of Northern Ireland to help solve a string of murders that have been taking place.
Paul Spector is targeting young professional women in the city of Belfast, and the police are in a race against time to stop him before he targets any more women.
The show has a good cast, including everyone who has ever been on Hollyoaks (not really, but it does seem like it!).
The show is well worth giving up a few hours to sit and watch the whole season. It keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times.
