2017 has already been another year for huge movies, with more due to be released, which makes more opportunities for impressive 3D viewings. Although the excitement of watching 3D movies in the cinema may be past its peak, there’s still the advantage of viewing 3D movies in the comfort of your own home thanks to technology.
Although the number of movies showing in 3D has decreased over time, it is still no doubt an exciting way of enjoying big-screen thrills. However, the lacking numbers of 3D movies make up in excitement as only the biggest blockbusters are getting the 3D treatment this year.

The Lego Batman Movie
Batman movies… amazing, Lego movies… amazing, Batman and Lego together in one movie? Even better! It’s almost like the movie makers have thought of two things millennials love most in the world and then put them in a movie together.
A Lego-built version of the Joker attempting to take over Gotham City definitely needs a pair of dark lensed glasses to watch. The Lego Batman movie is a perfect example of an animated movie being transferred to 3D format with heaps of visual elements to dazzle the eye. Scenes using 3D effects jumping out at the audience include Lego pieces, explosions, and a chain of heroes hanging on for dear life.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
For all the Marvel fanatics, Spider Man is back and is played by new actor Tom Holland, who does not disappoint. Peter Parker is on a mission to prove himself to be your ‘ordinary’ neighbourhood spider man until the Vulture makes an appearance. The movie is no doubt created with three dimension in mind, featuring great action and plenty of web slinging.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi
Due to be released on the 15th of December, we could all be treating ourselves to an early Christmas Star Wars viewing. The release of the name ‘The Last Jedi’ raised many questions – is Luke Skywalker really the last Jedi? Or is it about Rey? And as the movie unfolds, there will no doubt be multiple thrilling action scenes, which will provide amazing visual elements for 3D viewing with plenty of lightsabres swung in our faces.
Wonder Woman
Haven’t super hero movies always been made with 3D viewing in mind? Wonder Woman’s powerful scenes and dramatic effects definitely have. Featuring countless explosions and feuds, the film is not shy about throwing them in the audience’s face. The film also includes a variety of scenes of slow motion and fast paced action, and can be viewed in 3D without straining your eyes or experiencing motion sickness.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
Another Marvel film on the cards and another must see 3D viewing. Containing plenty of dramatic visuals of battle scenes with intense backdrops of space and the cosmos, old enemies become new allies and favourite heroes from the classics come to save the day as the marvel cinematic universe continues to grow.
