Here at Electronic world TV we love television. 2013 has been a stellar year when it comes to television. We have seen a 3 Doctor special of the BBC’s spectacular ongoing Dr Who series, on ITV we saw mother of two Sam Bailey take the X Factor crown and we experienced series three of the gruesome yet truly addictive series of HBO’s Game of Thrones. It has been a sensational year for television that promises to continue over Christmas, however now it’s time to look to the future and get excited about what the excitement the television shows of 2014 have to bring.
Sport
The world of sport will yet again be thrown into frenzy as the first England match against Uruguay and Costa Rica World Cup in Brazil is to be broadcast by the BBC. Can England’s football team match the success of the British Olympic team that we saw at the London 2012 Olympics? This major football tournament is surely one to watch. ITV will also be showing exciting World Cup games, so get your flags out and support your country!
Mystery/Drama
The BBC’s sensational Sherlock Holmes series is to return to our screens on the 1st of January. The return of Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Dr John Watson has sparked much excitement since it was announced earlier this year. How did Sherlock survive his famous death at the end of season 2? We’ll have to wait and see, but lucky for us we don’t have to wait too long.
Fantasy
There has never been a series to match the epic scale of high fantasy Game of Thrones. Season 4 is set to return to Sky Atlantic in April, although official dates are yet to be confirmed. No doubt this series is bound to be as bloody, gruesome and as conniving yet utterly brilliant as the first three. ‘Who will die this time?’ is the question on everyone’s lips.
Reality
Everyone loves a little bit of reality television, whether if you just love to hate it! In 2014 we see the return of blind audition show ‘The Voice’ presented by Emma Willis. Everyone’s favourite ‘poshies’ will stay on our screens until late 2014 in the form of BAFTA winning Channel 4 show Made in Chelsea. Paddy McGuinness also returns to our screens on ITV with a whole new lot of lovely ladies and handsome hunks who are all looking to find love!
2014 promises to be a truly exciting year when it comes to television programmes! There are many more TV shows to look forward to such as Dr Who with the new Doctor, the ‘Thick of It’ star Peter Capaldi and, of course, the soaps are all set to have spectacular story lines! So get planning your TV guide for next year now and never miss your favourite shows.
