When it comes to finding a new TV series – we’ve all been guilty of trawling Netflix for, let’s say, a considerable amount of time, whinging about the lack-of ‘decent’ things to watch, and feeling defeated, finally settle down to endure yet another series of South Park to numb the disappointment. True? Don’t worry! We’ve all been there.
But, no more! As 2014 proved to be an absolute corker for the small screen, were hoping (and with the proof in this upcoming list) that 2015 may just be even better.
So, if you’re sick of feeling like there’s nothing to watch – here’s part one of our top pick of the upcoming favourite TV shows ‘15. Hey, and if you decide to watch them all – well, you can thank us for never being bored, ever again. You’re welcome!
Enjoy.
Better Call Saul
Airdate: 8th February 2015 on AMC & Netflix
Synopsis: Set 6 years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White, audiences meet the man previously known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet.
It’s not surprising, that when Breaking Bad creators rumoured the series release, die-hard fans of the era-defining show were a little sceptical, but given the success of its big brother, we’re hoping the 2003-set prequel will be exactly what we’re hoping for. After all, what’s not to love? It’s Breaking Bad meets comedy gold, with critics from the TCA’s stating it’s a solid follow-up. So, fingers crossed!
The Last Man on Earth
Airdate: 1st March 2015 on FOX
Synopsis: In a post-apocalyptic 2022, Phil Miller searches the empty planet for the sign of another human being besides himself.
Having pretty much dominated the 2014 film scene, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are returning to the small screen, where they started out over 10 years ago. Given their current run of success, this cheeky ‘network comedy’ series should be a good one, and promises to provide an experimental and visual treat, from start to finish, with a few cool guest roles thrown in the mix, too!
Untitled Rock ‘N’ Roll Project
Airdate: TBA
Synopsis: A struggling New York-based exec tries to resurrect his record label during the 1970s, the rock & roll period which saw punk and disco change everything!
Conceived by Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese, both of whom witnessed the cultural whirlwind firsthand, the show is pretty much a continuation of ‘Boardwalk Empire’, and unites the same creative team! With Terence Winter and Scorsese making an undeniable epic pair, we’re hoping it’ll prove a little better than the previous, especially with the line up of stars that are rumoured to be making an appearance. From Olivia Wilde and Bobby Cannavale to Juno Temple and Ray Romano – we’ve definitely got high hopes for this one!
