As awards season is in full flow, we turn our attention to one of the UK’s most prestigious film award ceremonies, the National Film Awards.
The History
Those in the film industry travel from all over the world to the annual awards ceremony, which is held in central London at Porchester Hall.
The event, which this year is on the 28th March 2018, celebrates the achievements of established and independent filmmakers, actors, actresses, casting directors, production companies and crew who make up the motion picture industry.
Still a relatively new ceremony, with its first being held in 2015, the event is the only awards ceremony which enables members of the public to nominate and vote for their favourite stars in all categories.
The Nominees
This year, the voting body received a record-breaking amount of nominations, with a staggering 2.4 million movie fans placing a vote across 18 categories.
