Best TV for GTA 6: What Should You Look For?

Best TV for GTA 6: What Should You Look For?

on

The GTA 6 release date is 19 November. To see Vice City as Rockstar intended, you need a TV that stays sharp in daylight, keeps detail after dark, and responds instantly when you press a button. A laggy or washed-out screen will ruin an experience thirteen years in the making. Fortunately, getting a top-spec gaming TV does not mean paying full price. At Electronic World, we sell graded Samsung, LG, and Sony models at far lower prices than high street stores. Here is what to check before launch day.

What is the best TV for playing GTA 6?

The best TV for playing GTA 6 is a 4K model with HDR, a 120Hz panel, HDMI 2.1 and a Game Mode that cuts input lag. Rockstar has confirmed the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, so the best device to play it on is whichever of those two you already own. The same checklist suits anyone hunting for the best TV for gaming on PS5.

Rockstar has not published GTA 6 performance modes, so nobody can promise 120 frames per second.

Do you need a 4K TV for GTA 6?

A full HD TV will run the game, but a 4K TV is worth having. It packs four times the pixels, and you see the difference in distant skylines, road markings and palm leaves that turn soft on a lower resolution screen. 4K is now standard, so it comes at most prices. Browse our 4K TVs to compare sizes and brands.

Refresh rate and HDMI 2.1: what stops the lag

Two things annoy gamers more than a soft picture. One is the delay between pressing a button and seeing it happen. The other is tearing, where the image splits into horizontal lines during fast action. Three features deal with both:

  • 120Hz refresh rate: redraws the picture 120 times a second instead of 60, which keeps a car chase clean.

  • VRR (variable refresh rate): matches the screen to your console's frame rate and removes tearing.

  • ALLM (auto low latency mode): switches the TV to its fastest setting when the console starts, so your inputs register sooner.

HDMI 2.1 is the connection that carries 4K at 120Hz, and many TVs fit it to one port only. Check which port carries it before you plug in your console. The filters on our gaming TVs page include an Optimised for gaming option, and each listing names its ports and features.

HDR, OLED or QLED for Leonida

Pick OLED if you mostly play at night, and QLED if your living room gets plenty of daylight. GTA 6 takes you to Leonida, a state of bright beaches, dim interiors and neon streets. HDR lets a TV show more of that range, so sun glare and a shadowy alley both keep their detail. Brightness and contrast count for more than the HDR label on the box.

OLED screens give deep blacks that suit night driving. QLED screens run brighter, which holds up against sunlight. Compare OLED TVs and QLED TVs, or see which suits your budget.

What size TV is best for GTA 6?

A 55 inch TV suits most living rooms, and a 65 inch model suits a bigger room or a longer sofa. A 48 to 50 inch screen works well in a bedroom or small flat. Measure the space first, stand included.

Start with our 55 inch TVs, step up to 58 inch to 65 inch TVs, or look at 48 inch to 52 inch TVs for tighter spaces.

Should you play GTA on a TV or a monitor?

A TV suits a sofa and a console. A monitor suits a desk. No PC release date has been announced for GTA 6, so a monitor only makes sense if you plan to connect a console at your desk.

To play GTA on a TV, these four steps take five minutes:

  1. Plug the console into your TV’s HDMI 2.1 port with the cable supplied

  2. Switch on Game Mode, unless ALLM does it for you

  3. Turn off motion smoothing and other heavy picture processing, which add delay

  4. Enable HDR in the console settings

Get your TV ready for GTA 6 with Electronic World

We keep prices low by selling graded TVs, which are surplus stock, end of line models, customer returns and boxes with damaged packaging that high street shops cannot sell as new. Our engineers test every single one rigorously and each listing states its exact condition, with images attached, such as Grade A with no marks on the screen.

Our gaming range covers OLED and QLED models from Samsung and LG in a range of screen sizes, with the gaming features listed on each product page. That gets you a premium brand panel with proper gaming features, which a new set from an unfamiliar budget brand at a similar price often lacks. If you have a budget in mind, shop our TVs under £500 or TVs under £700. Every TV carries a 12 month return to base warranty unless stated otherwise, and a 14 day return policy applies if there is an issue.

You can visit our Birmingham showroom to see a TV and take it away the same day, or split the cost into three interest free instalments with Klarna, subject to acceptance. Not sure which TV suits your console? Call 01217692623 or contact the team and we will point you to the right one.
